Derek Wilkinson

Derek Wilkinson is a Partner in the Washington DC office.

As Global Co‑Head of the Public Impact Practice, he leads the firm’s work across the not‑for‑profit, public sector, education, social enterprise, and broader community‑benefit landscape in the U.S.

Derek brings more than 30 years of recruiting and talent advisory experience, with a particular focus on supporting mission‑driven organizations — including commercially oriented ones — in identifying and securing transformative leadership. He has extensive experience helping organizations of all sizes attract and retain leaders for Boards and executive, general management, and functional roles.

With experience spanning two global search firms, a boutique search firm, and the largest private provider of technology and security consulting talent, Derek brings deep expertise in organizational dynamics and the ability to manage complex, multi-layered relationships.

Derek is a graduate of Franklin University Switzerland, where he received a BA in International Relations. He has also served on the institution’s Board of Trustees. He is a Member of the Board of Directors of the US-ASEAN Business Council, a member of the Advisory Board of the Coalition for the Homeless, Odgers’ Americas Council Delegate to the AESC, and an Ambassador for the World Benchmarking Alliance.
