Scam Communications

We value your trust and want you to feel safe when interacting with us. We have become aware of scams and fraudulent communications impersonating Odgers. We take this matter seriously and are committed to providing the information you need to protect yourself from these deceptive practices.

Known scams

WhatsApp messages

We would like to alert candidates to an ongoing WhatsApp scam. The sender poses as an executive search firm, headhunter or recruiter, advertising fake roles to obtain personal information for malicious purposes.

If someone contacts you on WhatsApp claiming to represent Odgers and you suspect phishing or fraud, block the number and/or report the scam as follows:

  1. Android: Open WhatsApp, select More options, then go to Settings > Help > Contact us to submit a fraud report.
  2. iOS: Open WhatsApp, then go to Settings > Help > Contact us.

How to report a suspicious phone number to WhatsApp

WhatsApp takes reports of suspicious contacts seriously. To report a suspicious number:

  1. Open the chat with the suspicious contact.
  2. Open the chat details by selecting the phone number, group name or contact name to view the account information.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and select Report contact or Report group.

Types of scams and impersonation to watch out for

Phishing emails: Scammers may send emails that appear to come from Odgers, asking for personal information, account details or financial information. We will never request confidential information by email.

Fake social media accounts: Fraudulent profiles or pages may impersonate Odgers to gain your trust and request personal details, payments or other confidential information. Always verify that a social media account is authentic before engaging with it.

Impersonation calls: Scammers may call pretending to represent Odgers, offering special deals or services, or requesting payments. We do not make unsolicited calls to request financial transactions or confidential information.

Tips to protect yourself
