Sergio Garcia

Sérgio Moniz Barretto Garcia is a senior executive and independent board member with over 30 years of experience across the infrastructure, transportation and logistics sectors, including highways, railways, ports, shipping and multimodal logistics.

He served as CEO of Arteris S.A., one of Brazil’s leading toll road concession platforms, controlled by Brookfield and Abertis, and has held C-level roles and board seats in publicly listed companies.

Throughout his career, he has led complex value creation initiatives, regulatory renegotiations, operational turnarounds and large-scale capital investment programmes, maintaining close engagement with shareholders, regulators and public authorities. He brings extensive expertise in corporate governance, capital structuring, concessions and public-private partnerships (PPPs).

He holds a degree in Naval Engineering, a Master’s in Production Engineering from COPPE/UFRJ and is currently pursuing a PhD at UFRJ. He is fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
