It has come to our attention that there have been instances of scams and fraudulent communications circulating, impersonating Odgers.
We take this matter seriously and are committed to providing you with the information you need to protect yourself from these deceptive practices.
Phishing Emails: Scammers may send emails that appear to be from Odgers, often from third-party services (such as Gmail or Hotmail) asking for personal or financial information. Always verify the authenticity of the email address before engaging.
Fake Networking & Social Media Accounts: Fraudulent social media profiles or pages may impersonate Odgers to gain your trust and request personal details, payments, or other sensitive information. Always verify the authenticity of our social media accounts before engaging.
Impersonation Calls & SMS Messages: Scammers may call you pretending to be representatives of Odgers, offering special deals, services, or asking for payments. We do not make unsolicited calls for financial transactions or sensitive information.
We want to alert candidates of an ongoing scam through a SMS provider, including WhatsApp: The sender impersonates a search firm, head-hunter or recruiter, promoting fake roles to obtain personal information for malicious action.
It is not our usual practice to use SMS or WhatsApp to initiate contact with you in this way, specifically if you have not had an established conversation with us or our consultants previously.
Signs to Look Out For:
Recommended Actions:
If you receive an SMS or WhatsApp message from someone claiming to represent Odgers and you suspect it may be fraudulent, please do not respond or click on any links. We recommend blocking the number and reporting the message as spam or a scam through your mobile provider or messaging platform.
We are investigating additional measures to help prevent these incidents from recurring. If you have any concerns about the legitimacy of a message, please contact your local Odgers consultant directly to verify the communication.
To help us investigate, please also forward or report any suspicious communications to help@odgers.com.
We are aware of ongoing scam activity involving fraudulent emails impersonating Odgers and our consultants. These messages are typically sent from non-company domains (such as Gmail, Hotmail, or similar services) and may promote fake job opportunities or request personal information.
We want to alert candidates of an ongoing scam through LinkedIn. The sender creates fake LinkedIn profiles mimicking legitimate recruiters or firms. They may send connection requests and messages offering job opportunities within Odgers, or on behalf of our clients, asking for personal details.
Signs to Look Out For:
If you suspect a scam, report it to us immediately. You can also report fraudulent LinkedIn profiles directly to LinkedIn, see their guidance here.
If you believe you have been targeted by a scam or received a fraudulent communication impersonating Odgers, please report it to us immediately at help@odgers.com.
