A former CFO joins Financial Advisory Firm as Deputy CEO. 

• Odgers was instructed to act on behalf of an AIM listed financial advisory firm in their search to appoint a Deputy CEO. The founder and CEO, along with a Non-Executive Director, required an individual who could join the organisation as Deputy CEO with a view to ultimately succeeding the founder as CEO following a short transitional period.
• An experienced C-suite executive from an accountancy background, the successful candidate had progressed through ever increasing operation roles to being CEO of a law firm, an area of professional services the financial advisory firm was looking to expand into.

Our Approach 

This appointment was significant for the financial advisory firm, as the founder had started and grown the business together with a number of shareholders and had listed on the AIM in 2023. To ensure that the founder was confident and comfortable to make the transition, it was important that Odgers found an individual with the credibility, gravitas, and expertise to engage and inspire confidence in stakeholders and shareholders alike. 

To help really understand the profile of the right individual, we invested a significant amount of time getting to understand the business, spending multiple days at the headquarters, talking to a wide range of stakeholders including the Board, COO, Partners, CFO, and shareholders.

Having invested this time, we were ready to take the opportunity to market with a compelling sell about both the role and the organisation.
