The talents of the future meet today’s top management.
A simple idea. A huge opportunity.
CEOx1Day is a global talent programme in which postgraduate students spend a day shadowing a senior executive at a Danish company or organisation. You gain an insight into leadership, decision-making processes and value creation in practice, whilst the executives gain an insight into the next generation of talent.
Previous years have included CEOs from, amongst others:
Tivoli, Novo Nordisk, Nykredit, TV 2, Google Denmark, Bang & Olufsen, Matas, Copenhagen Airports, Danske Spil, Ambu, ALK, DR, Norlys, ISS, PFA and SimCorp.
I learnt about strategy and leadership at CBS, but here I saw how it is put into practice. What made the biggest impression on me was just how much leadership is about people. It gave me a whole new respect for the responsibility that comes with the role – and for the way in which, as a leader, you can help both the business and its people to thrive.
For students
As a Master’s student, you’ll have a unique opportunity to gain practical insight into top-level management, strengthen your leadership profile and receive feedback on your LeaderFit profile.
You’ll gain insight into strategic decision-making, organisational culture and value creation, meet partners at Odgers in Copenhagen and be matched with a CEO, so that the programme is tailored to your interests and ambitions.
The programme begins with a screening and LeaderFit assessment at Odgers, followed by individual feedback. Finalists are then matched with a CEO, and the visit takes place during the autumn with a bespoke one-day programme.
Odgers created an environment that fostered curiosity, reflection and honest dialogue. Right from the start, it was clear that this initiative was not about viewing leadership from a distance, but about allowing participants to immerse themselves in the real pace, the responsibilities and the human dimension that the role of CEO entails.
For businesses and senior executives
The programme adheres to clear guidelines on confidentiality and the GDPR, and all external communication takes place by agreement and with your approval.
Participation strengthens your talent pipeline with motivated, qualified students and provides new perspectives on strategy, culture and management practices within an international context.
Odgers handles screening and selection, including LeaderFit, matching and coordination, and provides a tailored communications package for the web, the press and LinkedIn before and after the visit, as well as advising on the framework, programme and managing expectations.

I gained an insight into how direct leadership is exercised at the very highest level, and how much of the role involves clarity, prioritisation and real-time decision-making.
